Bromma Airport Transfer, 20 Minutes from the Middle of Stockholm

About 8 km, or 5 miles, which makes it by far the closest airport to Stockholm. The drive takes 20 to 25 minutes in normal traffic and rarely more than 35 even in weekday rush hour, because the route does not depend on the E4 motorway that slows Arlanda journeys.

Bromma has a single passenger terminal and a separate, purpose-built arrival hall with two baggage belts, so you collect your bag and walk straight out to where your chauffeur is standing. Usually 10 to 15 minutes from touchdown to the arrivals hall. Bromma is small, the walk from aircraft to baggage belt is short, and there is no passport control on domestic or Schengen arrivals. It is the quietest arrival experience in the Stockholm region — which is much of the reason people fly into it.

Honestly, less often than from Arlanda — and we would rather say so. The airport coach reaches Cityterminalen in about 20 minutes for roughly 119 SEK, and the tram to Alvik takes 9 minutes. A private car earns its place when you have luggage, a group, a fixed meeting time, a destination away from the tram and metro, or a connection onward to Arlanda.

Three ways. The airport coach runs up to every 20 minutes to Cityterminalen beside Central Station, about 20 minutes for roughly 119 SEK. Tram line 31, the Tvärbanan, leaves from outside the terminal and reaches Alvik in 9 minutes, where you change to the green-line metro — around 25 minutes to T-Centralen in total. Or take a metered taxi from the rank, typically 15 to 25 minutes.

Yes, and it is one of our most common Bromma bookings. Allow 30 to 40 minutes between the two airports in normal traffic, more in rush hour. Give us both flight numbers and we will set the pick-up against the realistic time you will clear Bromma, not the timetable.

Bromma is now a small scheduled airport and a large business-aviation one. Scheduled traffic is mainly domestic and regional — Malmö, Visby, Växjö and Trollhättan among them — after Braathens Regional moved its operations to Arlanda in 2024. The bulk of Bromma's movements today are private jets, corporate flights and air ambulance. Check your ticket carefully: BMA is Bromma, ARN is Arlanda, and they are 40 km apart.

Yes. Bromma is Sweden's principal business-aviation airport, and general-aviation arrivals are handled through the FBO terminals rather than the main hall. Tell us your handler — Grafair Jet Center or IFLY FBO, for example — along with the tail number and ETA, and the car will be waiting at that terminal rather than in public arrivals.
