Every booking is quoted in advance at a fixed price, per vehicle, with no surge pricing and no surprises. A private airport transfer between Arlanda and central Stockholm starts from 2,200 SEK.
Every other journey is priced individually: the vehicle class, the hours, the itinerary and the number of travellers all change what the right car is. Hourly, full-day and multi-day chauffeur hire, events, group transport and cross-border journeys are quoted on request, and quotes are normally returned within 30 minutes, at any hour of the day or night.
It is a different product, and the price difference is the product. A taxi meter pays for a car and a driver for the length of one journey. A chauffeur booking pays for a specific vehicle reserved for you at a specific time, a driver assigned to you rather than dispatched to you, a flight watched from the moment it leaves, waiting time built into the price, and a team that answers when your plans change. If the goal is the cheapest way from A to B, a taxi wins. If the goal is that the car is there, in the right place, with the right person, without you managing it, that is what you are paying for.

Sweden does not run on gratuities. Your chauffeur is a professional, and service is included in the quoted price, and nobody will be waiting for an envelope. A tip is welcomed if you feel the service earned one, and it is never assumed. For American guests in particular: the 15 to 20 per cent you would add at home is simply not part of how this works here.
Sweden is close to cashless, and Stockholm effectively is. We invoice or charge the card on file, and your journeys are settled without any payment happening in the car. American Express, Visa and Mastercard are all accepted, and corporate bookings can be invoiced to a company account.
If you would call it a black car service, an executive car service or a town car at home, this is the equivalent service in Stockholm: a professional chauffeur, a pre-booked premium vehicle, a fixed price and a named person meeting your flight. The vehicles are European saloons and executive vans rather than American-style town cars, and stretch limousines are not part of the business-travel culture here.
Our team answers 24 hours a day from Stockholm, which is six hours ahead of New York and nine ahead of Los Angeles. You can send a request at midnight Eastern and have a fixed quote before breakfast. WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach us from abroad, and your chauffeur is reachable the same way on the day of travel, so you are never dependent on roaming minutes or a local number.
Sweden requires an approved child restraint for children under 135 cm, and the rules are enforced. Tell us the ages and we fit the right seats before collection; any charge is confirmed with your quote. Rear-facing seats are used far later here than in the United States, which surprises most visiting parents; if you prefer to bring your own seat, our chauffeurs will fit it.
Distances are short: nothing in central Stockholm is more than about 20 minutes from anything else. Sweden uses the 24-hour clock, so your 6 pm pick-up appears as 18:00 on every confirmation we send. The currency is the Swedish krona, not the euro. And in winter, sunset can come before 3 pm, which is worth knowing when you plan the day you land.
Central Stockholm spreads across islands linked by bridges, which means traffic concentrates at a handful of crossings. A journey that looks short on a map can take three times longer at the wrong moment, and the difference between a calm arrival and a rushed one is usually leaving fifteen minutes earlier rather than driving faster. Your chauffeur plans around the bridges, not around the distance.
The Old Town's lanes are narrow, largely cobbled, and in places closed to traffic. Hotels and restaurants there are reached on foot from the nearest point a car can legitimately stop. We agree that point with you in advance rather than discovering it with your luggage in the boot, and for tours of Gamla Stan the car waits somewhere sensible while you walk.
From late autumn to spring, Stockholm's roads are dark, salted and frequently snow-covered, and the working day includes long hours without daylight. Our vehicles run winter tyres for the season and our chauffeurs do this every year; the practical consequence for you is only that we build extra time into winter airport runs. Guests arriving in December for the first time are often surprised by how early it gets dark, so we plan photography and sightseeing accordingly.
Two periods stretch Stockholm's chauffeur capacity every year. Nobel Week in early December fills luxury-class cars across the city, and Midsummer in June empties it in a different way as the country moves to the coast and the archipelago. If your trip touches either, reserve early: this is the one part of the service we cannot conjure at short notice.
